Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how IventNow (“IventNow”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you use the IventNow mobile app and this website (together, the “Service”). We are the data controller for the personal data described here. By using the Service, you agree to the practices set out in this policy.

Who we are

IventNow is an events platform that lets people discover, create and manage events, guest lists and tickets. IventNow’s data is processed under the joint responsibility of Alessandro Forgione and Antonio Villanacci (joint data controllers), independent developers. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, you can contact us at support@iventnow.com — a single point of contact for both.

Information we collect

• Account data: your email address and, if you sign in with Apple or Google, the identifiers those services share with us.
• Profile data: your display name, username, profile photo and any details you choose to add.
• Location data: with your permission, your device location is used to show events near you and surface what is happening around you on the map. You can turn this off at any time in your device settings.
• Activity data: events you create or attend, guest lists, tickets, follows and other interactions within the app.
• Notification data: if you enable push notifications, a device token used to deliver them.
• Payment data: ticket payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card details; we only receive transaction status and limited information needed to confirm your purchase.
• Technical data: basic device and diagnostic information used to keep the Service secure, stable and free of abuse.

How we use your data and our legal bases

• To provide and operate the Service — accounts, events, lists, tickets and notifications (legal basis: performance of our contract with you).
• To process ticket payments through our payment provider, Stripe (performance of a contract).
• To send location-based features, push notifications and any optional updates you opt into (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
• To secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve our features (our legitimate interests).
• To comply with legal obligations, including accounting and tax requirements.

How your data is shared

• Event organizers: when you buy a ticket for, or join the guest list of, an event, the organizer and their authorized staff can see the information needed to manage entry, such as your name, ticket and attendance status.
• Other users: your public profile and certain activity (for example that you are attending an event) may be visible to people you connect with, consistent with your in-app choices.
• Service providers: Supabase (backend, authentication and database hosting), Stripe (payment processing), Resend (transactional emails), Expo (push notification delivery), Apple and Google (sign-in and app distribution), the device map provider (Apple Maps / Google Maps) for maps, and Mapbox, Photon (Komoot) and Nominatim (OpenStreetMap) for address and place search (they receive the text you type to find a location). These providers process data only on our instructions, and some may process it outside the EU/EEA under appropriate safeguards (see below).
• Legal and safety: where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of users, the public or IventNow.

We do not sell your personal data.

Payments

Ticket payments are processed by Stripe. The event organizer is the seller of record and receives funds through their own Stripe account; IventNow only provides the connection and technology. Stripe processes your payment information under its own privacy policy.

Cookies and statistics

This website does not use profiling cookies or third-party cookies. We only use the browser’s technical local storage (localStorage) to remember preferences such as the light/dark theme; on the “Delete account” page, the verification session is handled by Supabase, also via local storage. Because we use no non-essential cookies, no consent banner is required.

To understand which pages and events are most visited we collect aggregate traffic statistics with a first-party, cookieless, no-personal-data tool: we record the page visited, the coarse source (search engine, social or referring site, without the full URL) and a coarse device/browser label. We do not store your IP address or full user-agent: the unique-visitor count uses a temporary identifier that rotates every day and cannot be linked to you or to your visits on other days.

International data transfers

Some of our providers may process data outside your country. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect your data.

Data retention

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, the personal data associated with it is removed, except where we must retain certain records to meet legal obligations (for example, payment and accounting records held by Stripe).

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, export and delete your personal data, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@iventnow.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from within the app, or from the “Delete account” page on this website. Deletion is permanent and removes your profile, attendances, lists and associated data.

Children’s privacy

IventNow is not intended for children under 16, or under the minimum age required in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below that age.

Security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe and to respond promptly to any issue.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
